The EU admitted its inability to influence the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

The European Union (EU), which called for the convening of an international conference to de-escalate the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, is in reality unable to influence the situation. Politico writes about this with reference to an unnamed European official.

“Let’s be realistic: the United States has influence, as do some Gulf countries, but we don’t,” the publication’s interlocutor said, adding that the European community’s desire to participate in resolving the conflict is caused by “classic EU arrogance.”

Earlier it became known about the EU’s intention to convene an emergency meeting of member countries due to the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. According to European Council President Charles Michel, the crisis in the Middle East could fuel extremism across Europe.
