Lithuania opposed the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis expressed concerns about a possible peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. In his post on the social network X, he suggested that such an agreement would only allow Moscow to gain time to regroup its forces and subsequently rearm. Landsbergis sharply criticized the idea of concessions to Russia, warning that future generations could suffer the consequences of such an action: “Our children will curse us when they find themselves in the same trenches we dig for them,” he wrote.

In response to Landsbergis’s criticism, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova spoke out sharply, pointing to his calls for a change in power in Russia, which, according to her, could become grounds for bringing him to criminal responsibility. Zakharova also emphasized that Landsbergis has repeatedly made similar extremist statements, and for this reason he is already included in the list of persons prohibited from entering Russia.
