Using cherries in cooking

Sweet cherries are a versatile berry that is suitable for preparing various dishes and desserts. You can make preserves, compotes, syrups, jams, marmalades, confitures, pastilles, juices, tinctures, liqueurs and wines from the fruits. Cherries go well with dairy products, cottage cheese, sour cream, yogurt, ice cream and cream. The berries are used to make baked goods: pies, pies, buns, cupcakes, muffins, pancakes, pancakes. Cherries are used to decorate cakes, puddings, jellies, mousses and creams. Moreover, berries can be an ingredient for preparing salads, sauces and meat dishes.

Let’s now consider three interesting recipes – sugar-free cherry jam, champagne jelly with fruits and berries, lavash roll with cottage cheese, cherries and bananas.

Cherry jam without sugar
Wash the berries and remove the seeds from 1 kg of cherries. Place the berries in a saucepan and add 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes. Then add 2 teaspoons of citric acid and stir. Place the jam in sterile jars and seal.

Champagne jelly with fruits and berries
To prepare the dish, soak 20 g of gelatin in 100 ml of cold water for 10 minutes. Pour 200 ml of water into a saucepan and stir 100 g of sugar. Bring to a boil and dissolve the gelatin. Remove from heat and add 750ml champagne. Stir and cool to room temperature. Place chopped fruits (oranges, pineapples, strawberries) and berries (cherries, cherries) into jelly molds. Pour the jelly into molds and refrigerate for 4 hours.

Lavash roll with cottage cheese, cherries and bananas
Rub 500 g of cottage cheese through a sieve. Add 100 g sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar. Stir until smooth. Apply the curd mixture onto the pita bread and distribute evenly. Sprinkle with pitted cherries and diced bananas. Roll the pita bread and wrap it in cling film. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Bon appetit!
